General Library :
The main aim of the Library is to provide necessary support for teaching, learning, research activities of the University by providing resources and offering innovative services to the academic community. The University library system consists of a Main Library and College / Department/Seminar Libraries. The University Library coordinates the library system. We are in the process to link the libraries in all the campus and constituent college to cater uniformally to all the students under Palamuru University. The main library was established in 2008 along with the University. The devoted building of General Library is sprawling and spacious with indoor auditorium, reading section, reference section etc.

Library
Our mission is to enrich the student learning experience, encourage exploration and research at all levels, and contribute to advancements in access to scholarly resources. Palamuru University (PU) library is located in the main campus. It is a modern building, on a north-south axis, with a total floor space of more than 11,000 m2. As the University developed, it has shifted to new building in 2013. PU library opens at 9:00 AM and closes at 10:30 PM. It is a user-centred academic library. The library has open stacks, space for ... readers, and .... study rooms. The basement has an conference hall and a study hall accommodating ... readers. The Library collects texts and provides services to meet the studying, research and teaching needs of individuals who are affiliated with the PU. It has a maximum book storage capacity of 20,000 volumes and contains ...... study desks and a conference hall, which accommodates large-scale events and features a ..... person seating capacity. It has rich collections in the academic books for all the departments, each year new collection will be added to the library in order to fulfil the requirements of the students. It provides online access to thousands of academic ejournals, ebooks, databases, streamed audio and video, and datasets. It supports the work of the University with world class collections that are particularly strong in science disciplines ex. Pharmacy, Microbiology and also English Studies. It provides online reference help by partnering with academic libraries around the world. It uses assessment tools with feedback from students, faculty and staff to shape collections and services.
The Library is well equipped with online and Internet facilities that provide users with fast and comprehensive access to information. Combining technology, art and leisure, this multifunctional library also hosts exhibitions, concerts and performances. The Library currently houses more than 15,000 books and nearly current 3000 titles. The library has journal collections related to Political science and commerce. The Library is well-equipped with online facilities, allowing users fast and comprehensive access to information. In addition to holding texts, the Library participates in several international and domestic library cooperation programs. PU patrons can borrow books from the library using a current PU ID card. The other programs similarly enhance the scope of materials available to patrons by offering books and articles in a time efficient manner. The Library is also a multi-functional building designed to host public conventions and art exhibitions. The building's aesthetic internal layout combined with the traditional beauty of the surrounding landscaping has made it a landmark of the University's campus. Not simply a facility for information gathering, the Library also plays the important role a center for art collection and display.

Library Reading Hall :
A special section known as Competitive Examination Reference Library established during the year 1997 to facilitate the University students to prepare for the various competitive examinations. This Section provides reading materials for various competitive examinations conducted at the State and Central levels. The timings of the Section are the same as that of the Library. The membership is restricted to campus college students. The Section also helps its members in preparing for TOFEL, IELTS & GRE examinations by proving books, cassettes and CDs.

Working Hours :
The library is kept open throughout the year except for six days (three national and three festival holidays). It is kept open from 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. on all working days, 9.00 a.m. to 11.00 p.m. during examinations and 10.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on holidays.
