POST-GRADUATE CENTRE: GADWAL

  1. ABOUT THE POST-GRADUATE CENTRE:- The Post-Graduate Centre at Gadwal was established under Osamania University, Hyderabad in the year 1993 with a 3 year M.C.A., and M.Com., courses. The P.G. Centre was defunct till 2012 as there was no intake of students. The P.G. Centre at Gadwal was reopened in February,2013 and became part of Palamuru University, Mahabubnagar,Telangana State. The Centre got reopened with the main objective of imparting post-graduate education to the rural youth in the backward area like Gadwal which occupies lowest literacy rate in the newly formed Telangana State.

              The P.G. Centre at Gadwal is located in a beautiful and serene campus on the banks of Krishna river in the area about 17 acres. The campus is five kilometers away from Gadwal town. The P.G. Centre was initially started with M.A., Telugu in February,2013(2012-13). The P.G. Centre also offered M.A., English course with the initiation of the present Director, P.G. Centres, Palamuru University and the Head of the Department of English, Palamuru University campus Dr. G. Manoja madam consequently during the academic year 2013-14.


  2. The P.G.Centre at Gadwal currently offers two programmes namely M.A., Telugu and M.A., English with adequate teaching staff (Regular and contractual) and non-teaching staff (contractual). The intake of each course is 30 students.

  3. The esteemed Vice-Chancellor Prof B. Rajarathnam sir is kind enough to announce the introduction of two more post-graduate courses namely M.Com., and M.Sc., Computer Science from the academic year 2017-18 in P.G. Centre, Gadwal, Palamuru University, Mahabubnagar.

  4. The free transportation of the students is also arranged from Gadwal town to P.G. Centre by the University authorities as the campus is 5 kilometres away from the town.
  5. The Unit of N.S.S. could not be established as the intake of the students was below 100 students only.

  6. The Health centre, The Placement Cell, The Grievance Redressal Cell and the Women’s Cell are yet to be established.

  7. Currently the P.G. Centre is maintained without Hostel facility. However two hostels for both men and women are likely to be constructed with the great efforts and initiation of the Vice-Chancellor sir Prof. B. Rajarathnam and the Registrar Prof. I. Panduranga Reddy sir.

  8. The facilities and materials are yet to be provided for Games and Sports on the campus.

  9. The P.G. Centre is equipped with a spacious Library which provides books on Telugu Literature, Commerce and Computer Science.
DEPARTMENT OF TELUGU
  1. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

    Department of Telugu was established in February, 2013(2012-13) in Post-Graduate Centre, Gadwal, Palamuru University, Mahabubnagar with an intention to serve the rural youth of Gadwal . The Department of Telugu offers M.A.,in Telugu programme which consists of 20 courses in four semesters with various specializations in Telugu literature. The Department of Telugu was begun with four Academic Consultants who were all Ph.D., holders. All the four Academic Consultants were excellent in their areas in Telugu literature and their contribution to the Department of Telugu was really laudable. The Library is well equipped with many books on Telugu Literature to meet the needs of the students. Currently the Department of Telugu consists of two Assistant Professors and two Academic Consultants. The Department of Telugu follows C B C S syllabus which is very useful to P.G. Students and scholars. Moral values and ethics which are useful to the society are involved in syllabus.

Department of English
  1. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

    The Department of English was established in the year 2013 with the initiation of the Director, P.G. Centres and the Head of the Department of English, Dr. G. Manoja madam, Palamuru University, Mahabubnagar. The Department of English offers M.A., programme which consists of 20 courses in 4 semesters. The Department follows the CBCS syllabus with an aim to impart the relevance and significance of communication skills in today’s competitive world by exposing the students to both Literature and Language. The faculty of the Department of English participated and presented papers on both Literature and Language at various levels i.e. both National and International seminars with timely guidance of the Department of English, Palamuru University, Mahabubnagar. The faculty also got published articles on American Literature, Feminism, Indian Writing in English and Communication Skills in both National and International Journals. The Department of English is well maintained by Academic Consultants under the Headship of Dr. G. Manoja Madam.
