Palamuru University College of Education (PUCOE ), is a Pre Service Teacher Education College of the University. The college has a very well qualified faculty of academic staff who deliver quality and relevant education to all students. The programme running at the college is more tailored to practical oriented and also theory based. Palamuru University College of Education is one of the colleges in the Telangana State that offers quality teacher education at Post graduation level, Palamuru University college of Education is aimed at narrowing the gap by providing education that is accessible and affordable. It caters needs of rural students in Mahabubnagar and surrounding districts of the telangana state. The successful students of this college got placement in government and private sectors in Education and allied areas.
The University has oppointed highly qualified eligible staff as per NCTE norms. The faculty members are very much passioned in teaching and learning. They are always aquiring new teaching skills and research exposure with different faculty development programs conducted at the department, university and other places by the UGC and other research bodies. They have published 04 books and about 40 research articles in reputed journals. The faculty are specialized in Philosophy of Education, Educational Psychology, Teacher Education, Education Technology, Computer Education, Environmental Education, Elementary Education, Non-formal, Adult & Continuing Education, Population Education and Economics of Education and are pursuing research in these areas. The college has successfully conducted the Six Orientation Programmes for Teacher Educators at UG level during 2013-2023.
ESTABLISHMENT
The college was established in October 2013, and started Master of Education (M.Ed.) one year program from the academic year 2013-14 with the permision from the state government and recognition from the NCTE SRC Banglore. The University College of Education offers M.Ed. (Master of Education), two years program from the academic year 2015-17. The college has it's own building with spacious class rooms, laboratories, infrastructure, Psychology Lab, Technology Lab, Computer Lab, Library, air-conditioned Conference Hall (with LCD projector) and Seminar Hall with seating capacity of 200 participants.
The articulated goals of the institute are :
- Organising pre-service teacher training programmes.
- Undertaking, assisting, promoting and coordinating research in education.
- Being as the education department of the university providing academic and professional guidance to the affiliated colleges of the university.
- Providing curriculum revision as per the NCTE norms and communicating academic almanacs to the affiliated teacher education colleges under the umbrella of Palamuru University.
- Providing consultancy service to state government and educational institutions.
- Organising training, conferences, workshops, meetings, seminars for school teachers and teacher educators.
- Mentoring teacher education institutions for promoting quality education.
- Preparing and publishing papers, and books in teacher education.
