Department Profile

The Department of Commerce was started during the academic year 2015-16 in PG Centre, Kollapur with an intake of 40 students. During the academic year 2015-16, 36 students have joined through Osmania University counselling. The department has potential faculty member who have qualification according to UGC norms. The faculty details are given below.

The Department of commerce completed 2 academic years successfully with available resources like well equipped computer lab, commerce lab and library facilities in the college. During this academic year 2016-17, the first batch comes out with excellent placement opportunities in various corporate sectors in Hyderabad and Bangalore. The department has conducted a "workshop on Research Methodology" on Jan. 30, 2017. It is proud to say that the department of commerce has conducted a training programme on 'Tax Consultant' for the sake of the M.Com final year students. Now the department is going to adopt the skill development on first week of August 2017 with the collaboration of S&P Technology, Hyderabad and planning to invite the 'FACT SET Technology' and 'GENPACT' Companies HR People (Multinational Companies) to educate our commerce students on market requirements in financial sector and opportunities after Post Graduation.

The Department would like to conduct a National Seminar on "e-Tourism Challenges and Opportunities" with the collaboration of National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NITHAM) - Hyderabad in November 2nd week. We also proposed to incorporate "Skill Development Hour" in our Department at the end of every week. As a part of academic curriculum, the department has been inviting various universities professors for the 'guest lecture' on e-marketing, finance, taxation, etc. The department also planning to invite Dr. Duvvuri Subba Rao a former RBI Governor, on the occasion of Commerce Fest-2018 as a key note speaker on Banking and Insurance Sectors.

At the end the department would like to express our science thanks to Honourable Vice-Chancellor Prof. B. Rajaratnam and Registrar - Prof. Panduranga Reddy for their co-operation towards the commerce department enrichment in Kollapur PG Centre.
