Department Profile

The Department of Botany was started in the year 2013-14 as an post graduate Department. At present the Department has excellent infrastructure facilities and expert staff members in different fields of Plant Sciences. The Department has at present only one specialization. The Department offers M.Sc. Botany course with the following Specialization:

Applied Mycology & Molecular Plant Pathology

The main reason to establish the department in this University is present of different types of medicinal plants and endangered plant species in and around the university campus and it is easy to the students to get the practical knowledge regarding the subject and most of the students who are joining in this course they have previous knowledge regarding the agriculture, plant diseases and medicinal importance of some rare medicinal plants which are available in this locality. Faculty members of the department are actively participating in workshops, Conferences and Seminars.
