Department Profile

The Department of Commerce was established in the year 2008 and it was a part of erstwhile PG Centre of Osmania University established in 1987-88. The department has been providing an ideal platform for students coming from rural background to metamorphosis themselves to face the challenges lying ahead and become successful. The department comprises of committed faculty members, actively engaged in research and produced a number of publications. The department is offering Post Graduate Course in Commerce (M.Com) at University College (Main Campus) and also at PG Centre, Kollapur and Under Graduate Courses B. Com (General and Computer Applications) through affiliated colleges.

Presently, five teachers are working in the department. All the teachers are qualified as per UGC norms. Good number of books (Commerce) and journals are available in the library. The department is providing special inputs related to UGC-NET, employment opportunities to students, conducting communication skills improvement programmes and seminar presentations to the students. Guest/Extension lectures are regularly arranged by the department for the benefit of the students.
