The 'Not me but you' nature of the Program Coordinator and 6 NSS program Officers has started their endeavour by conducting 6 special camps at the most backward places of Mahabubnagar district and empowered the masses there regarding the importance of literacy. Sooner the cell has became the only NSS cell in entire India to enter into the Guinness book of world records for conduction of "Largest Bare Foot Walk " on November 12, 2010 with 2500 participants highlighting the importance of walking without footwear by walking a distance of kilometer. After this Unique event, the branches of NSS cell, PU has paced its growth towards 130 NSS units to further its services towards the corners of MBNR dist. Also the cell recognition was further chartered by Prasamsa book of records who conferred the title "Maha Maha " to Palamuru University and "Sangh Mitra" on the Vice Chancellor, the Registrar, the Program Coordinator and the 6 NSS program officers.
Dr V. Bhumaiah was appointed as 2nd NSS Program Coordinator and he extrapolated the NSS cell's image of service. The 3rd NSS program coordinator was Dr N. Chandra Kiran, Assistant Professor, HOD, dept of 5-Yr M.Sc. Integrated Chemistry and has completed 97 special camps out of 100, first of its kind in entire Telangana NSS structure. He also organised the first NSS program officer training program at University college, PU with the help of Empanelled training Institute of MG University, Nalgonda with which about 40 NSS programme officers has directly benefitted. The then district collector and Magistrate Smt. Sridevi has appointed Dr. N. Chandra kiran as a member, District Consumer Forum under the chairmanship of collector. Service at Brahmotsavams of Manyamkonda and Kurumurthy has started its recognition for better service of our NSS volunteers. Mr Rangappa, Academic Consultant, Dept of Commerce was the next PC, NSS cell, PU and he continued the motto of NSS cell, Pu with simultaneous strengthening of individual NSS units. Dr Anuradha Reddy acted as Coordinator till July 2021.Presently Dr.K.Praveena Asst.Prof. from Dept. of Physics taken charge as Coordinator from August 2021.
The NSS cell has organised many blood donation camps, with the support of Red-Cross society in various places of MBNR dist. With the principal support of SVS medical College, the cell has conducted many medical camps across many villages of MBNR. Also supported the Telanganaku haritaharam plantation program in Mahabubnagar dist. Swatch Bharat program in support of Govt. of India is one of the important regular programs of NSS cell, P.U.
