Sports Complex
The Department of Physical Education at Palamuru University is headed by Mr. K. Balaraju, a veteran physical education coach. Palamuru University has a well-established Sports Complex that can accommodate large number of participants and audience. Games like football, cricket and hockey are introduced at present. The University PG College has some of the best facilities for students for practising and attaining professionalism in their respective games and sports. Thus, University has always been supportive of sports and fitness as it helps in maintaining a healthy mind and body. Students are allowed to choose the sport of their liking and capability, and they are given equal chance to excel in it. In order to motivate the students and to get them interested in sports, Physical Education team takes utmost care.

About Sports and Games Complex
It was established in 2008 & up to 2010, the syllabus, selection criteria was as per that of Osmania University. In the year 2013, it got all India sports affiliation and was established as in individual entity.
Athletic Performance
The objectives for undergraduate program are to develop outstanding athletes, professional advisory personnel for competitive sports and physical education (PE) teachers with a certain sports specialty. The objectives for master program are to improving the career productivity and longevity of elite athletes and utilizing the teaching resources and equipment to cultivate excellent sports coaches.
Participation
Palamuru University has participated in 11 events during 2015-2016, like shuttle badminton, volley ball, kabaddi, badminton and other events like throws, jumps etc.,
During 2013-2014, students participated in volley ball, kabaddi and cross country (Men & Women).
During 2014-15, students participated in volley ball, kabaddi and cross country (Men & Women) and cricket.
Selection Criteria of Sportspersons
Any information regarding the selection of sportspersons is published in popular newspapers and also the same information is posted on the University website. The university Registrar acts as the Chairman and the Selection Committee will decide the candidates based on their meritorious performance. Support from the University
The students who participate in Inter University Tournaments and emerge as winners are privileged to have priority in university admissions and jobs under sports quota. Ample number of students proving their merit in various games and sports have got selected for many state and central government employment.
The students who participated in inter university tournaments (IUT) for the year 2015-16 got selected in sports quota for jobs as constables (10 members) and senior inspector (SI).
